10TH NOVEMBER 1916 THE FATE OF A WAINGROVES SHERWOOD INFORMATION WANTED PTE. H. BAMFORD WAINGROVES, 5TH SHERWOOD FORESTERS We are asked by a distressed mother, Mrs Bamford of Jessop Street, Waingroves, to appeal for information of her son, 3902 Pte .H. Bamford, a bomber, of the 5th Sherwood's, who last wrote home in June, and who was posted in July by the war office to be missing. Bamford enlisted in March 1915, and had been in France about eight months. Another elder brother, named Ernest Bamford is also with the colours, and has been in France over a year. Both brothers were in the same battle, but Ernest was wounded, and has just recovered and gone back into training at Ripon.
